Job 6:30
"Is there injustice on my tongue?
Cannot my palate discern calamities?
The day started out slowly, I don't know what I did. But eventually it was suggested that we all do something - that would be me and Annie and Corey and Christian.
Annie and Christian came over and it was then lunch time, so we head out for sushi. Well of course, Christian NEVER eats sushi, so I gave him a dollar (all I had in cash) and he insisted that he had his own money, and after we parked behind Sushiville and got out, he headed for Pizza Smizza.We were eventually seated in the end booth. This was good, as that left a place for Christian, as I had told him to come over to Sushiville when he was done with his pizza. The first thing I ate was a plate of California Roll. That was eventually followed by a piece of cantaloupe. And then there was a lull for me, as nothing I wanted to eat came round. But eventually I spotted an asparagus roll, and Corey grabbed it for me. Well the very first bite made me realize that I was making a big mistake. I totally forgot that the orange sauce on the top was very spicy. I did finish that piece, and then I scraped the sauce off the top of the next two pieces, but it didn't help much. I then traded Annie a piece of asparagus roll for a piece of her tempura. But the damage was done. I knew my mouth was going to suffer.
Did I mention how cute my new doll is?
Soon Christian came. He was a bit bored, though I got him chocolate eclairs. That cheered him up, but he sure ate them quickly. I had decided that I was done eating, and Corey and Annie were eternally waiting for some sesame bean paste balls they had ordered. Never think that just because you asked the waitress to get you something that it will happen without asking a second time.
So to fill the gap, Christian and I played two games of gin rummy. He creamed me on the first one, I slightly overtook him in the second game, but I think I creamed him in the third game, and then it was time to go. He has turned into a good gin rummy player.
We headed out, deciding to go to Goodwill. Christian stuck to me like a shadow, but he never complained. He was very useful in reaching for things I couldn't get. He has gotten really a lot taller than me. Last summer it was debatable which one of us was taller, but not more. I have to look up at him. But though he might be big, he's only 12. I eventually bought 4 books: 1) Pippi goes on Board, by Astrid Lindgrin, 2) Go Tell It On the Mountain, by James Baldwin, 3) The Little House on the Prairie Cookbook, and 4) Judith Miller Guide to Period Style Curtains and Soft Furnishings. Goodwill is such fun. I only paid about 9 something for the books.

Well after that I dropped Annie and Corey off at Anzen, and Christian off at home, and told him to be a good boy. Then I went home to relax, I think in fact i took a short nap.
This is because Isaak and Caroline were coming over in the evening. This is part of our group that used to meet regularly on Wednesdays. We had most imbarrasingly missed Isaak and Caroline's wedding last year, and tonight we were finally going to get the opportunity to give them their wedding presents - if we can find them. Well as it turned out we found everything. We had a lovely time with them. I had Riley hake crepes for dinner, and we were just getting ready eat when they arrived, so they sat in the kitchen with us as we ate. Then we went into the living room, where we had their presents on the chair they always sit on. We gave them a gift certificate to IKEA. I hope it was the right one, as there was no amount. And we gave Isaak some coloring crayons and a coloring book, and we gave Caroline an vintage Betty Crocker Cookbook - a book every cook should have. After they left we watched Jeopardy and went to bed.Caroline has some serious health issues herself, and I need to be remembering to pray for her. One has lots of ideas about the problem, but it's not so nice to say anything.
Psalm 33:20-21
Our soul waits for the LORD;
He is our help and our shield.
For our heart rejoices in Him,
Because we trust in His holy name.
