"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you.
"So do not worry about tomorrow;
for tomorrow will care for itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Matthew 6:33-34
Not much happened today. I started out by taking Christian to school. Today is the second to last day for school. Earlier this morning I e-mailed his teacher urging her to get him into an advanced math class next year. It turned out that she was supposed to turn in that request last Friday, but she said she'd try. There's a prayer request. Then when I was coming home, Annie called and asked if I would like to accompany her and Corey and Emily to the farmers market by the LLoyd Center. I said sure, if I could drive over to their house as the starting point. I was a bit worried about getting too tired. But I first needed to talked to one of my medical people about this cold/hay fever. Well as it turned out, that took all morning. Finally I got a return call from Dr. Look's office, from Melissa. She said that he said it sounded like hay fever, and I should probably be fine to start chemo on Thursday. I sat around sneezing and doing a big crossword puzzle. I just didn't have the concentration to do anything else. My eyes were watering, and my nose was itchy. But one thing for sure, my temperature was normal.
I had a good breakfast, and I made a smoothie from strawberries and a peach for a snack. Then I made a great egg salad and avocado and tomato sandwich accompanied by baby carrots and red grapes.
I picked up Christian at 3:45. He had the stuff from his desk and locker with him. We stopped at my house to pick up his rip stick. It's broken, but he said his Mom had bought the replacement part needed, and he was going home to fix it. He's getting so grown up. He's very excited that he's going to San Diego for three weeks to visit his uncle Robert. Now there's call for prayer. I hope later in the summer he will get to visit his aunt Iris and uncle Travis. They're a lot more responsible. Though none of his relatives on his dad's side attend church.
Riley got home at about 6:45, and he made dinner. It was ready at 8. It was a very tasty spicy soup. It was spicy because I went in and adjusted the soup before we ate. I think he's a little afraid of add herbs and spices. But he did a great job on the soup.
While eating dinner we started watching baseball. The Mariners are playing Baltimore in Baltimore. There was an amazing interference by a fan. The Baltimore player hit a good potentially home run ball, but Mariner Chavez, whose a really good center fielder, jumped up and had the ball, but a fan had put his hand into Chavez's glove and flipped the ball out. How outrageous!! Luckily the umps had a good confab and called the guy out. The ballplayer that is. I think they should have thrown the fan out. They would have in Yankee Stadium. But then, they put up with a lot in Baltimore - really. Unfortunately the Mariners lost in the end. But tomorrow is another day, another game.After the game I took what meds seemed a good idea, and I went to bed. I had closed all the windows on the third floor to try and keep the pollen down. In the middle of the night I realized that one of my operation wounds (there's two of them) felt swollen, so I asked Riley if he could go find a small ice pack for me. The one that they had given to me for my biopsy. He found it, and it was just what I needed. But not long after, he began complaining of being really cold. I thought it was because he had gone down stairs for me. So I got up and got a blanket to put on him. Well in the morning, when I was up, I looked over towards his side of the bed and lo and behold, the window on his side was wide open. No wonder he was cold, and no wonder I was still sniffling when I got up! He promised not to do that again. For some reason his brain doesn't activate fully in the middle of the night.
Psalm 63:5-7
My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness,
And my mouth offers praises with joyful lips.
When I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You in the night watches,
For You have been my help,
And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.
